3. MAIN SCREEN AND AVAILABLE FUNCTIONS

The main screen displays the functions enabled for the monitor. The availability of each icon depends on the installer’s configuration and the installation status.

Main screen icons: Depending on the monitor configuration.

During a call, the action bar located at the bottom of the screen indicates the remaining time for the communication to end. It also shows different action buttons, whose availability and visibility depend on the active configuration of the device, as detailed later.

3.1. FUNCTION SUMMARY

Among the different functions offered by this product are the following. These functions will appear on the main screen. It is possible to modify their position by holding the function and dragging it through the menu to the desired location.

Depending on the desired configuration, access to the various settings screens from the main screen will be available through the following icons:

We can classify the functions into;

·        Intercom functions.

·        Additional intercom functions that must be enabled by the installer.

4. INTERCOM FUNCTIONS

This section groups the basic functions that the user uses in daily operation: call reception, opening, auto-on, do not disturb mode, screen cleaning, and help.

4.1. PROGRAMMING DUOX ADDRESS

When the monitor starts with factory settings or after a reset, the DUOX address remains unprogrammed. In that state, the device does not function as a home terminal until a valid address is assigned.

The address-less state is identified by the rapid blinking of the power LED. By touching the screen or pressing CONVERSATION or OPEN DOOR, access to address programming is granted.

For a more precise description, access the programming guide DUOX PLUS.

4.1.1. Programming from the monitor

When we select the “monitor” option on the previous screen, a screen with a numeric keypad appears with the DELETE and CONFIRM keys. Once the address is entered and CONFIRM is pressed, the address will be saved and the monitor shows the main screen.

4.1.2. Programming from panel

The panel must be configured as Master before selecting the programming mode . The activation method depends on the type of panel installed: digital, Direct, push buttons, Cora, or Cora Kit.

· Digital panel: access the corresponding programming menu on the display.

https://fermax.com/.doc-download?type=handbook&slug=97869eh-guia-rapida-prog-display-skyline-duox-plus-es&lang=es

· Direct panel: enter the programming code provided for the keypad.

https://fermax.com/.doc-download?type=handbook&slug=970266-doc-prog-teclado-direct-duox-es-en-fr-de-pt&lang=en

· Push button panel: press SW1 three times quickly and wait for an acoustic confirmation.

  • SW1 must be pressed 3 times quickly in succession. After 2 seconds, a confirmation tone (BEEP-BEEP) and the MASTER announcement will be heard. Once programming has started, call the monitor from the panel. The monitor confirms the address with a specific tone and maintains the image during the process. The time between entering programming and calling from the panel must be less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
  • Cora / Cora Kit: access the web server and select the programming option.

Note: After programming the monitors, it is recommended to deactivate the Master mode of the panel.

After pressing the MASTER key on the panel or entering the corresponding code, the monitor will connect with the panel and emit a confirmation tone to indicate that the address has been registered correctly. During the process, it will display the image from the panel if a video signal is available and will automatically save the address in the terminal.

Refer to the programming guide in the Duox Plus Technical Book for any questions about the process.

https://fermax.com/.doc-download?type=techdoc&slug=duox-plus-system-guide&lang=en&index=0

The address 000000 corresponds to an unprogrammed monitor and does not allow communication.

4.1.3. Other programming methods

It is also possible to program the address from the concierge, doorbell, or DUOX PLUS decoders. For these methods, the DUOX PLUS programming guide should be consulted.

https://fermax.com/.doc-download?type=techdoc&slug=duox-plus-system-guide&lang=en&index=0

4.2. CALL RECEPTION

When a call is made to a residence from a Street Panel, a ringing tone is produced on the street panel and the monitor, generating the selected melody according to the source of the call and the volume that is selected.

Upon receiving the call, the video sent by the other device will be displayed, if available, for a maximum of 30 seconds, showing the identification of the device that called in the upper corner, the button for changing the panel (in the case of a call with a panel) on the right, and the action bar at the bottom.

If the Do Not Disturb mode is activated, or the volume is at 0, the ringing melody will not be played, but the image will still be shown and the call can be attended.

To answer the call, the physical CONVERSATION key must be pressedDrawing in black and white

The content generated by AI may be incorrect.. After entering Conversation, the COLGAR icon on the screen will change to MUTE MIC and audio will be available in both directions with the other device. The conversation will be limited to a maximum of 90 seconds. After that time, the communication will be cut off and the monitor will return to standby.

In the lower action bar, the remaining time until the call ends is indicated. A series of buttons also appear (which may or may not be shown, depending on the current configuration of the device, as described later).

The volume bar behaves differently before and after picking up. Before picking up, this bar controls the volume of the ringing melody, while after picking up, this bar controls the volume of the audio received during the conversation.

It is also possible to send a F1 or F2 command by pressing the icon customized by the installer for this purpose. A pop-up will appear at the top of the screen indicating whether the command was successfully sent or not.

If there are multiple terminals in the same residence, only one can be picked up, putting the rest of the terminals back to standby. If an AUTO-ON is attempted from any of the terminals in standby, the screen will indicate CHANNEL OCCUPIED and the monitor will produce a busy tone.

Upon receiving a call, before picking up, it is possible to cancel the call by pressing the COLGAR icon.

Once picked up, to end the call, the physical button “CONVERSATION”call button.png must be pressed. If not done manually by the user, the conversation will end in 90s, 5s after opening the door in Preview or 5s after door opening if this option has been activated on the street panel.

During the display of the image from the street panel (with or without audio), it is possible to open the door by pressing the physical button OPEN DOOR open button.png. Pressing the OPEN DOOR button will show a message indicating that the action has been sent.

The monitor has two conversation modes configurable by the installer from the settings menu:

  • Hands Free (default mode)
  • Push-To-Talk (PTT)

Hands Free Mode

In Hands Free mode, communication is bidirectional without the need to hold down any button.

The MUTE MIC icon indicates the status of the monitor's microphone:

  • Active microphone : the audio captured by the monitor is transmitted to the interlocutor.
  • Muted microphone.: the audio captured by the monitor is not transmitted.

Press the MUTE MIC button to toggle between both states. The icon will change to show at all times whether the microphone is activated or muted.

Push-To-Talk (PTT) Mode

In Push-To-Talk mode, communication is conducted alternately using the physical CONVERSATION button.

  • While the CONVERSATION button is held down, the monitor transmits the audio captured by its microphone. During this time, the audio received from the panel is muted. The MUTE MIC icon changes state to indicate that speaking is taking place.
  • Upon releasing the CONVERSATION button, the audio transmission from the monitor stops and only the audio received from the panel is played. The icon returns to its initial state.

This mode is particularly useful in installations with complex acoustic conditions, as it prevents the sent and received audio from overlapping during conversation.

Note: When the monitor is set to Push-To-Talk (PTT) mode, an icon will appear in the upper right corner of the screen during the conversation to indicate that this mode is activepush talk button.png.

4.3. AUTO-ON

The Auto-on function allows viewing the panel or camera interface without having received a call. When activated from the main menu, the monitor displays the carousel of available devices according to configuration.

If the panel or camera is busy or unavailable, the monitor emits an error tone and returns to standby after showing the corresponding warning.

This function is activated from the AUTO-ON icon in the Main Menu on screen. The carousel will show in order the general entry panel number 0, the programmed block panel number 0, and the panel 1 of the same block each time the camera icon in the upper right is pressed.

Additionally, the case of REDIAL should be considered, that is, when a call is received from any panel, after the communication ends during the next 15 seconds, when AUTO-ON is pressed, the connection will be made with the last panel with which there was communication.

4.4. DO NOT DISTURB MODE DND

The Do Not Disturb (DND) mode deactivates the ringing tone. The monitor continues to receive calls and display the image, allowing communication to be attended and the door to be opened. The front indicates the status with the DND LED lit continuously.

The Do Not Disturb (DnD - Do Not Disturb) mode can be activated from the Main Menu. By pressing the DnD button while the tone isblue , it changes to DnD indicates that the ringing tone is “Off” (red) and the ringing tone is deactivated, putting the monitor in silent mode.

While the DnD mode is active, incoming calls do not generate a ringing tone, although the monitor still allows all usual functions, such as:

  • Connection with the street panel or concierge.
  • Door opening.

To indicate that the monitor is in silent mode, the LED DnD on the front remains lit continuously. This indicator informs the user that the ringing tones are deactivated[JM1] .

The Do Not Disturb mode is activated and deactivated exclusively with the DnD button.

4.5. SCREEN CLEANING

The cleaning function locks the touchscreen and physical buttons for 30 seconds, allowing the front to be cleaned without accidentally activating functions. If a call comes in during cleaning, the monitor automatically unlocks.

Note: Only use a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use aerosols, solvents, abrasives, or spray cleaner on the screen.

4.6. HELP

The main menu includes a help icon. Pressing it displays a QR code that redirects to the user guide or support documentation associated with the monitor.

4.7. USER SETTINGS

The user settings menu allows configuring daily use parameters without modifying the installation. It includes language, time zone, melodies, volume, brightness, date, time, advanced volume, and reset user settings.

4.7.1. Melodies and repetitions

It is possible to assign a different ringtone for the different Placas of the installation (Street Panels, Conciergeries, Doorbell, Intercom, etc.)

The screen displays a list of possible call sources to which a melody from the available options and a number of repetitions can be assigned. It is possible to choose how many times the melody should be played for each call source (with a value between 1 and 15), with the maximum playback time upon receiving a call being 30s

4.7.2. Volume and brightness

This section adjusts the screen brightnessbrightness icon.png, the general call volume speaker icon.png and the doorbell volume exit icon.png. The call volume applies generally to the melodies, unless there is an active advanced volume range.

The ringtone volume is a general call volume, meaning it applies to all melodies and all sources of those melodies.

The doorbell tone volume will only apply when the doorbell is activated.

4.7.3. Date and time

The date and time settings and format can be manually configured from this menu:

To make a date or time change effective, you must press the action “update icon.pngIf the monitor is connected to a WiFi network, it will automatically take the date and time from the network. It does not allow adjusting the date and time if it is connected to a WiFi network.

4.7.4. Rest schedule settings

From the User Menu, it is possible to schedule a timing for the Do Not Disturb (DND) mode, so that it automatically activates during a specific time frame every day. To do this, a start time and an end time must be configured, as well as enabling the function. During this period, the Do Not Disturb light indicator will also remain on.

If the user presses the DNS button from the Main Menu, the scheduled timing for the Do Not Disturb mode will be disabled.

When the Do Not Disturb mode is active, the call will be silenced and the auxiliary output available at the terminals [A+, -] will also remain desactivated. Consequently, any deevice connected to that output, such as a call extender, will not be activated during that period.

4.7.5. User reset

The user can reset the user parameters to restore the monitor to factory settings by selecting and confirming the option, which is available in the User Menu with the icon USER RESET.

By pressing the USER RESET icon in the User Menu, confirmation will be requested along with the CONFIRM and CANCEL icons for the reset.

When the reset is completed, two messages may appear that will be displayed for 3 seconds:

RESET OK: indicates that the reset was successful. The monitor then returns to standby.

RESET ERROR: indicates that the reset could not be performed. The monitor then returns to standby.

The reset affects the indicated user configuration parameters.

4.8. INSTALLER SETTINGS

Access to the Installer Menu is protected by a 4-digit PIN. When the installer icon is pressed, a numeric keypad will be displayed, and the PIN must be entered to continue.

During the code entry, the user can show or hide the digits (using asterisks) by pressing the "HIDE" icon located next to the input fields.

If correction of the input is desired, the DELETE key removes the last entered digit. Once the 4 digits are completed, no new presses will be accepted until one of them is deleted or the code is confirmed.

After entering the complete PIN, CONFIRM must be pressed to validate access.

  • If the PIN is correct, access to the Installer Menu will be granted.
  • If the PIN is incorrect, the message will be displayed for 3 seconds:

After the third consecutive failed attempt, the monitor will automatically return to sleep mode, and access to the Installer Menu will be locked for 5 minutes. During this period, it will not be possible to enter a new PIN. Once the lock time has elapsed, access will be available again, and the attempt counter will reset.

Once inside the installer menu, the different available configuration options are displayed.

5. ADVANCED VIDEO DOORPHONE FUNCTIONS

The advanced functions expand the use of the monitor in installations with image capture, concierge, relays, Doormatic, and intercommunication.

5.1. PHOTOCALLER GALLERY

The Gallery allows viewing photographs captured during received calls. The captures can be made automatically upon receiving a call or manually using the capture buttons available during image viewing.

The Gallery function is enabled by default, and its icon will be displayed in the Main Menu. However, this icon will only be available when the Photocaller function has been previously enabled from the Installer Menu.

To store photographs, it is necessary to first activate the capture option. To do this, once inside the Gallery, press the switch located in the upper right corner of the screen.

By default, this option is disabled, indicating that photographs and videos of received calls are not desired to be saved.

Once capture is enabled, the user has two ways to obtain photos during the call that is activated in the additional functions within the installer menu:

Automatically – when a call from the panel is received. If the user activates the photo and/or video capture option, an automatic capture of each element will be made at the start of the call.

Manually – During an incoming call conversation, the photo capture buttons will appear. If during the view of the street panel (with or without audio), the user presses the button to take a photo.

The captured images will be stored in the Gallery for later consultation, with a maximum capacity of 300 photos.

If there is a photo taken automatically from an unmanaged call (either answering the call, or making direct opening or even from the APP) and it has not yet been viewed, two details can be observed on the monitor:

  • The MAILBOX LED with the "mail envelope" icon will light up.
  • In the GALLERY icon of the Main Menu, there will be a ball indicating the number of pending photos to view. If there are no pending photos, no ball will be displayed.

Gallery

The elements stored in the Gallery are displayed in chronological order, from the most recent capture to the oldest. Each page can contain a maximum of eight captures. Captures that have not yet been viewed are distinguished by a highlighted frame and a red indicator. By long-pressing on any capture, the selection mode is activated, from which it is possible to perform actions on one or several elements, such as marking them as viewed or not viewed, selecting all stored captures, or deleting them collectively.

If an image has been captured without the time and date being updated, it will be indicated with a warning triangle.

With the selected elements, the user can perform various functions with the buttons that appear in the lower right part when activating this mode.

The eye icon will mark the selections as viewed/unviewed.

Select all – this selection mode icon allows the user to select all elements in the gallery. This means that all elements from each of the available pages will be selected, not just from the current page.

Delete element – After making a selection, pressing the trash icon will request confirmation to delete the selected photos and videos. In the case that the user performs a deletion of all elements in the gallery, it will show the view with the empty gallery dialog.

Image

If the user performs a short press on any element of the gallery, they will access the viewing in an enlarged window of that element where various actions can be performed.

Deletion of photographs

From the selection mode, it is possible to delete one or several photographs using the DELETE option. When selected, a confirmation window for deletion will appear. If the user confirms the operation, the selected photographs will be permanently deleted and the Gallery will be automatically reordered. If the confirmation is canceled, it will return to the normal view of the Gallery, canceling the selection made and exiting selection mode.

When the SELECT ALL option has been used, pressing DELETE will request an additional confirmation before deleting all stored photographs. After confirming the action, all images will be deleted and the message EMPTY GALLERY will be displayed for 3 seconds.

It is also possible to delete an individual photograph from its viewing screen using the DELETE icon. In this case, the photograph will only be deleted after confirming the operation.

When the maximum storage capacity of the Gallery is reached, capturing a new photograph will automatically cause the deletion of the oldest stored photograph, thus ensuring space availability for new captures.

5.2. CONCIERGE AND SOS CALL

The call to the concierge is made from the corresponding icon when there is an active concierge visible to the monitor. If there are several concierges available, the user selects the desired one; if there is only one, the monitor tries to establish communication directly.

The monitor does not establish direct communication with the concierge until they pick up.

When making the call, the screen will show calling the concierge and a CALLING tone will sound. When the concierge answers, the monitor will receive a call from the concierge.

Once the call from the concierge is received, it will function as mentioned with the panel, but without being able to open the door and without having the camera switch button

SOS Call to Concierge: If there is a concierge ref:9424 in the installation and the Panic Mode (SOS) has been configured in it, when this Mode is activated from the concierge, the terminals in the scope of that concierge (General or Block of the terminal itself) will enter Panic mode, displaying the SOS button in the upper left corner of the main menu. When the SOS CALL icon is pressed for 3 seconds, a panic call to the concierge will be made, first, if the mode is activated, to the Block one, and if not, to the General Entrance. At that moment, the SOS icon will flash on the screen to indicate that a panic call is being made.

Additionally, when the monitor is in panic mode, the terminal F1 will function as an input for the external panic button, but will no longer function as a negative output. When pressing the external button (if installed) while the monitor is in rest, call, or conversation, a Panic call will be sent. At that moment, the SOS icon will flash on the screen to indicate that a panic call is being made

Note: In panic mode, terminal F1 can function as an input for the external panic button.

5.3. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS F1/F2

By pressing the user on the additional F1/F2 function, a F1/F2 command is sent through the DUOX PLUS bus to activate a DUOX PLUS relay.

Additionally, if the F1 button has been pressed, a negative is generated in terminal F1. It should be noted that this DOES NOT happen if there is a concierge in panic mode in the scope of the monitor.

It is possible to activate the F1/F2 command sending function from the monitor in rest, during the call, or while viewing an IP camera. When the F1/F2 button is pressed on the screen, it will indicate that the action is being performed by showing a confirmation banner when sending the command.

In addition to being able to activate the use of F1 and F2 functions, the installer can select a default icon for both, as explained in the relay configuration section

5.4. DOORMATIC

Doormatic allows the door to be opened automatically after receiving a call from a street panel. The user programs a countdown in HH:MM format, between 00:01 and 11:59. While the function is active, the Doormatic LED remains on.

The DOORMATIC function is only available if the installer has previously enabled it in their menu. In this case, through the corresponding icon in the main menu, the user can configure a time during which the door will automatically open upon receiving a call from a street panel after 5 seconds.

When the button is pressed and accepted, a countdown begins during which the DOORMATIC function will be activated

If the timer is canceled, the monitor returns to the default resting state.

5.5. INTERCOM CALL

This function allows communication with other terminals within the same residence.

The intercom call can be:

  • To all terminals in the residence at once (Call-To-All).
  • To a specific terminal within the residence (Selective call).

For this option to appear in the main menu,

  1. the function must be previously enabled in the Installer Menu by the installer see point.
  2. In addition to that, an intercom address must have been configured, as by default it will be set to 0.

The call will last 30 seconds, which is the time the recipient has to answer it. After this time, the called monitors will stop ringing and directly go to rest.

When receiving an intercom call, the screen will show the icon and the intercom address of the caller. Just like with a normal call, it is possible through the options of the options bar to configure the call volume.

If the call made is a Call to All, when one terminal answers the call, the rest will disconnect from the communication and will therefore stop ringing, going to rest.

5.6. PAIRING AND CALL FORWARDING DuoxMe

Below is the process for pairing and activating the call forwarding service using the DuoxMe mobile application. To initiate the pairing process, it is necessary to navigate through the monitor menu to the forwarding configuration option, as shown in the following UI/UX captures.

When entering the menu (it can be entered directly as it is the touch screen), the promotional informational message of DuoxMe and the QR for pairing with the app will be displayed.

After a call is received on the monitor, this promotional message will also be displayed for 8 seconds, as long as the monitor is not paired. If it is already paired, it will not be shown.

During the pairing process, the progress of this will be shown on screen and, upon completion, it will inform whether it has finished correctly or, on the contrary, has given an error.

During the pairing process, the states are shown through the wifi icon

6. POWER RESET

Press and hold the DOOR OPEN button for 20 seconds. If the monitor is functioning normally, the Power LED will turn off, and a few seconds later, it will turn back on.

7. ANNEXES

Models equipped with inductive loop incorporate an auditory assistance system designed to interact with hearing aids and cochlear implants used by people with hearing disabilities.

For versions with DDA ref: F09263 - WIFI MONITOR DDA 7" DUOX PLUS there will be an identifying label on the sideImage. The option must be activated from the programmer's settings menu (see settings section).

This icon allows activating/deactivating the inductive loop included in the monitor (only in models with inductive loop).

  • Icon LOOP OFF (by default): indicates that the loop is disabled.
