We can classify the functions into:

  • Videophone functions.
  • Additional videophone functions that must be enabled by the installer
  • Web and/or home automation integration functions that are configured by the installer

4. VIDEOPHONE FUNCTIONS

This block groups the basic functions that the user uses in daily operation: call reception, opening, auto-on, do not disturb mode, screen cleaning, and help.

4.1. PROGRAMMING DUOX ADDRESS

When the monitor starts with factory settings or after a reset by the installer, the DUOX address remains unprogrammed. In that state, the device does not function as a home terminal until a valid address is assigned.

The state without an address is identified by the rapid flashing of the power LED. By touching the screen or pressing CONVERSATION or OPEN DOOR, you access the address programming.

For a more precise description, access the DUOX PLUS programming guide.

4.1.1. Programming from the monitor

When we select the “monitor” option on the previous screen, a screen with a numeric keypad with the DELETE and CONFIRM keys is displayed. Once the address is entered and after pressing CONFIRM, the address will be saved and the monitor will show the main screen.

4.1.2. Programming from the panel

The panel must be configured as Master before selecting the programming mode . The activation method depends on the type of panel installed: digital, Direct, push buttons, Cora, or Cora Kit.

·        Digital panel: access the corresponding programming menu on the display.

https://fermax.com/.doc-download?type=handbook&slug=97869eh-guia-rapida-prog-display-skyline-duox-plus-es&lang=es

·        Direct panel: enter the programming code intended for the keypad.

https://fermax.com/.doc-download?type=handbook&slug=970266-doc-prog-teclado-direct-duox-es-en-fr-de-pt&lang=en

·   Push button panel: It must be in Master mode. The SW1 button must be pressed 3 times quickly in succession. After 2 seconds, a confirmation tone (BEEP-BEEP) and the MASTER announcement will be heard. Once the programming has started, call the monitor from the panel. The monitor confirms the address with a specific tone and maintains the image during the process. The time between entering programming and calling from the panel must be less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

·        Cora / Cora Kit: access the web server and select the programming option.

https://fermax.com/.doc-download?type=techdoc&slug=duox-plus-system-guide&lang=en&index=0

Note: After programming the monitors, it is recommended to deactivate the Master mode of the panel.

Review the programming guide within the Duox Plus Technical Book for any questions about the process.

https://fermax.com/.doc-download?type=techdoc&slug=duox-plus-system-guide&lang=en&index=0

The address 000000 corresponds to an unprogrammed monitor and does not allow communication.

4.1.3. Other programming methods

It is also possible to program the address from the concierge, doorbell, or DUOX PLUS decoders. For these methods, the DUOX PLUS programming guide should be consulted.

It is possible to change the programming from the installer menu.

4.2. CALL RECEPTION

When a call is made to the residence from a Street Panel, a ringing tone is produced on the street panel and on the monitor, generating the selected melody corresponding to the origin of the call and the volume that is selected.

Upon receiving the call, the video sent by the other device will be displayed, if available, for a maximum of 30s, with the identification of the calling device in the upper corner, the button for changing panels (in the case of a call with a panel) on the right, and the action bar at the bottom.

If the Do Not Disturb mode is activated, or the volume is set to 0, the ringing melody will not be played, but the image will still be displayed and the call can still be answered.

To answer the call, the physical CONVERSATION key must be pressedDrawing in black and white

Content generated by AI may be incorrect.. After entering Conversation, the HANG UP icon on the screen will change to MUTE MIC, and audio will be two-way with the other device. The conversation will be limited to a maximum of 90 seconds. After that time, the communication will be cut off and the monitor will return to standby.

In the lower action bar, the remaining time until the call ends is indicated. A series of buttons also appear (which may or may not be displayed, depending on the current configuration of the device, as described later).

The volume bar behaves differently before and after picking up. Before picking up, this bar controls the volume of the ringing melody, while after picking up, this bar controls the volume of the audio received in conversation.

It is also possible to send an F1 or F2 command by pressing the custom icon set by the installer for this purpose. A pop-up will appear at the top of the screen indicating whether the command could be sent or not.

In the case of having multiple terminals in the same residence, only one can be picked up, putting the rest of the terminals back to standby. If an AUTO-ON is attempted from any of the terminals in standby, the screen will indicate CHANNEL OCCUPIED and the monitor will produce a busy tone.

When receiving a call, before picking up, it is possible to cancel the call by pressing the HANG UP icon.

Once picked up, to end the call, the physical CONVERSATION button must be pressedcall button.png.  In case the user does not do it manually, the conversation will end in 90s, 5s after opening the door in Preview, or 5s after door opening if this option has been activated on the street panel.

During the display of the image from the street panel (with or without audio), it is possible to open the door by pressing the physical OPEN DOOR button open button.png.  When pressing the OPEN DOOR button, a message will be displayed indicating that the action has been sent.

The monitor has two conversation modes configurable by the installer from the settings menu:

  • Hands-Free (default mode)
  • Push-To-Talk (PTT)

The behavior of communication during a conversation will depend on the selected mode.

Hands-Free Mode

In Hands-Free mode, communication is bidirectional without the need to hold down any button.

The MUTE MIC icon indicates the status of the monitor's microphone:

  • Active microphone  :  the audio captured by the monitor is transmitted to the interlocutor.
  • Muted microphone.: the audio captured by the monitor is not transmitted.

Press the MUTE MIC button to toggle between both states. The icon will change to show at all times whether the microphone is activated or muted.

Push-To-Talk (PTT) Mode

In Push-To-Talk mode, communication is performed alternately using the physical CONVERSATION button.

  • While holding down the CONVERSATION button, the monitor transmits the audio captured by its microphone. During this time, the audio received from the panel is muted. The MUTE MIC icon changes state to indicate that speaking is in progress.
  • Upon releasing the CONVERSATION button, the transmission of audio from the monitor stops and only the audio received from the panel is played. The icon returns to its initial state.

This mode is especially useful in installations with complex acoustic conditions, as it prevents the sent and received audio from overlapping during the conversation.

Note: When the monitor is set to Push-To-Talk (PTT) mode, an icon will be displayed in the upper right corner of the screen during the conversation to indicate that this mode is active  push talk button.png.

4.3. AUTO-ON

The Auto-on function allows you to view the panel or camera interface without having received a call. When activated from the main menu, the monitor displays the carousel of available devices according to configuration.

If the panel or camera is busy or unavailable, the monitor emits an error tone and returns to standby after displaying the corresponding warning.

This function is activated from the AUTO-ON icon in the Main Menu on the screen. The carousel will show in order the general entrance panel number 0, the programmed block panel number 0, and panel 1 of the same block each time the camera icon in the upper right is pressed.

Additionally, consider the case of REDIAL, meaning when a call is received from any panel, at the end of the communication during the next 15s when AUTO-ON is pressed, the connection will be made with the last panel with which there was communication.

4.4. DO NOT DISTURB MODE DND

The Do Not Disturb (DND) mode deactivates the ringing tone. The monitor continues to receive calls and display the image, allowing communication and door opening. The front indicates the status with the DND LED lit steadily.

The Do Not Disturb (DnD - Do Not Disturb) mode can be activated from the Main Menu. By pressing the DnD button while the tone is “On” (blue) , it changes to DnD indicates that the ringing tone is “Off” (red) and the ringing tone is deactivated, putting the monitor into silent mode.

While the DnD mode is active, incoming calls do not generate a ringing tone, although the monitor still allows all usual functions, such as:

  • Connection with the street panel or concierge.
  • Door opening.

To indicate that the monitor is in silent mode, the LED DnD on the front remains lit steadily. This indicator informs the user that the ringing tones are disabled .

The Do Not Disturb mode is activated and deactivated exclusively with the DnD On / DnD Off button.

4.5. SCREEN CLEANING

The cleaning function locks the touchscreen and physical buttons for 30 seconds, allowing the front to be cleaned without accidentally activating functions. If a call comes in during cleaning, the monitor will automatically unlock.

Note: Use only a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use aerosols, solvents, abrasives, or spray cleaner on the screen.

4.6. HELP

The main menu includes a help icon. When pressed, a QR code is displayed that redirects to the user guide or support documentation associated with the monitor.

4.7. USER SETTINGS

The user settings menu allows you to configure daily usage parameters without modifying the installation. It includes language, time zone, melodies, volume, brightness, date, time, advanced volume, and user settings reset.

4.7.1. Language and Time Zone

Within this screen, you can set the monitor's language to one of the following: Spanish as the default language, English, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Dutch, and Arabic.

The time zone will affect the time displayed on the screen and during the transitions between daylight saving time and standard time. If the monitor is connected to a WiFi network, it will automatically fetch the date and time from the network. This is not the case for the time zone.

4.7.2. Melodies and Repetitions

It is possible to assign a different ringtone for the different Placas of the installation (Street Panels, Reception, Doorbell, Intercom, etc.)

The screen displays a list of possible call sources to which a melody from the available options and a number of repetitions can be assigned. It is possible to choose how many times the melody should play for each call source (with a value between 1 and 15), with the maximum playback time upon receiving a call being 30s.

4.7.3. Volume and Brightness

This section adjusts the screen brightnessbrightness icon.png, the general call volume speaker icon.png, the touch click volume , and the doorbell volume exit icon.png. The call volume applies generally to the melodies, unless there is an active advanced volume range.

The ringtone volume is a general call volume, meaning it applies to all melodies and all sources of those melodies.

The doorbell tone volume will only apply when the doorbell is activated.

4.7.4. Date and Time

The date and time configuration and format can be set manually from this menu:

To apply a change of date or time, you must press the “Save” button.

If the monitor is connected to a WiFi network, it will automatically fetch the date and time from the network. It does not allow adjusting the date and time if connected to a WiFi network.

4.7.5. Advanced Volume

The advanced volume allows you to define two ranges: day and night. Each range can be applied to specific days of the week and have its own values for ringtone and doorbell.

Note: In day mode, the available range is 08:00 to 21:59. In night mode, the available range is 22:00 to 07:59 the next day. If the "from" time is later than the "to" time, pressing the "Save" button will display a pop-up informing of the error, and the configuration will not be saved.

When the Advanced Mode is activated, the following icon will be displayed in the main menu to indicate this to the user.

4.7.6. User Reset and Web Data Cleaning

This menu allows you to reset user settings and delete cookies or browsing data linked to the URLs configured in the WebServer.

The user can reset the user parameters to leave the monitor with a clean configuration for the parameters selectable by the user (keeping the installer settings).

4.8. INSTALLER SETTINGS

Access to the Installer Menu is protected by a 4-digit PIN. When pressing the installer icon, a numeric keypad will be displayed, and the PIN must be entered to continue.

During code entry, the user can show or hide the digits (using asterisks) by pressing the “HIDE” icon located next to the input fields.

If the entry needs to be corrected, the DELETE key removes the last digit entered. Once the 4 digits are completed, no new presses will be accepted until one of them is deleted or the code is confirmed.

After entering the complete PIN, CONFIRM must be pressed to validate access.

  • If the PIN is correct, access to the Installer Menu will be granted.
  • If the PIN is incorrect, the message will be displayed for 3 seconds:

After three consecutive failed attempts, the monitor will automatically return to standby mode, and access to the Installer Menu will be blocked for 5 minutes. During this period, it will not be possible to enter a new PIN. Once the blocking time has elapsed, access will be available again, and the attempt counter will reset.

To add the cameras, they must be connected to the same WiFi network that the monitor will be connected to

4.8.2. Program Addresses

Program Addresses

The “Program” option in the installer menu allows modifying the monitor's address, as well as assigning an address for intercommunication within the same home.

See point 4.1 for terminal programming. If the monitor's address has been set from a decoder that has terminal address blocking enabled, the manual entry of the address will be blocked, and the inactive keypad will be displayed to prevent modification, along with a message referring to the Duox Plus guide for more details.

The third option in this menu will allow entering an address for intercommunication between terminals in the same home. Only a number from 1 to 3 can be selected, with the default being 0.

4.8.3. Access Point and WebServer

Allows raising a WiFi access point so that an external WiFi client can connect and access the device's configuration WebServer.

When this option is activated, a screen will display a QR code to connect to the access point raised by the device and access a web server from a browser. The functionality will be explained in section 7.

4.8.4. Help

The help icon within the installer menu shows a QR that redirects to a URL for the user guide for the installer itself.

4.8.5. FW Version

Within this option, a screen is displayed where the firmware version of the monitor and its unique identifier can be consulted for troubleshooting purposes.

4.8.6. Change Installer Access Code

First, the user will be asked to enter the new installer code, and then asked to enter it again, showing an error if these two codes do not match. If they do match, the code will be changed, and the monitor will exit the installer menu.

4.8.7. Installer Reset

The last option available within the installer menu allows us to reset installer parameters and leave the monitor with factory settings, by selecting and confirming the option.

This reset affects both user configuration parameters and the monitor's address. Since the programmed address is erased

5. ADVANCED VIDEO DOORBELL FUNCTIONS

The advanced functions expand the use of the monitor in installations with image capture, concierge, relays, IP cameras, Doormatic, and intercommunication.

5.1. PHOTOCALLER GALLERY

The Gallery allows you to view the photographs captured during received calls. The captures can be made automatically upon receiving a call or manually using the capture buttons available during image viewing.

The Gallery function is enabled by default and its icon will be displayed in the Main Menu. However, this icon will only be available when the Photocaller function has been previously enabled from the Installer Menu.

Once inside the gallery, to activate the function to capture photos and videos, press the gear icon in the upper right corner of the Gallery. By default, it will be Disabled, indicating that no photos or videos are to be captured.

Once capture is enabled, the user has two ways to obtain photos during the call that is activated in the additional functions within the installer menu:

Automatically – when a call from the panel is received. If the user activates the option to capture photos and/or video, an automatic capture of each element will be made at the beginning of the call.

Manually – During the viewing of a call from a street panel, the photo capture and video capture buttons will be displayed. By pressing the photo button, an image will be stored and a flash effect will be shown on the screen. By pressing the video button, a recording will start with a maximum duration of 15 seconds, displayed with a countdown and a flashing red indicator. In both cases, the monitor will show a confirmation message at the top of the screen indicating that the capture has been successfully made.

During the viewing of a call from a street panel, the photo capture and video capture buttons will be displayed.

The captured images will be stored in the Gallery for later consultation, with a maximum capacity of 300 photos and 20 videos without audio, each with a maximum duration of 15 seconds.

If there is a photo or a video taken automatically from an unmanaged call (either answering the call, opening directly, or even from the APP) and it has not yet been viewed, two details can be observed on the monitor:

  • The MAILBOX LED with the "mail envelope" icon will light up.
  • In the GALLERY icon of the Main Menu, there will be a ball indicating the number of pending photos to view. If there are none, no ball will be displayed.

Gallery

The items stored in the Gallery are displayed in chronological order, from the most recent capture to the oldest. Each page can contain a maximum of eight captures. Captures that have not yet been viewed are distinguished by a highlighted frame and a red indicator. By long-pressing any capture, the selection mode is activated, from which it is possible to perform actions on one or several items, such as marking them as seen or unseen, selecting all stored captures, or deleting them together.

If there are unseen items, the mailbox LED remains on and the main screen shows an indicator with the number of pending items.

The automatic captures (and videos) made during that call will be marked as unseen and highlighted with a frame and a red dot. If the user performs a long press on any item in the gallery, it will be selected (highlighted with a blue frame) and the user will directly enter the selection mode

If an image has been captured without the date and time being updated, it will be indicated with a warning triangle.

With the selected items, the user can perform various functions with the buttons that appear in the lower right part when activating this mode.

  • The eye icon will mark the selections as seen/unseen.
  • Select all – this selection mode icon allows the user to select all items in the gallery. This means that all items from each of the available item pages will be selected, not just from the current page.
  • Delete item – After making a selection, by pressing the trash icon, confirmation is requested to delete the selected photos and videos. In the case where the user deletes all items from the gallery, it will show the view with the empty gallery dialog.

Image

If the user performs a short press on any item in the gallery, it will open in an expanded window where various actions can be performed:

Deletion

From the selection mode, it is possible to delete one or several photographs using the DELETE option. When selected, a deletion confirmation window will appear. If the user confirms the operation, the selected photographs will be permanently deleted and the Gallery will automatically reorder. If the confirmation is canceled, it will return to the normal view of the Gallery, canceling the selection made and exiting the selection mode.

When the SELECT ALL option has been used, pressing DELETE will request an additional confirmation before deleting all stored photographs. After confirming the action, all images will be deleted and the message EMPTY GALLERY will be displayed for 3 seconds.

It is also possible to delete an individual photograph from its viewing screen using the DELETE icon. In this case, the photograph will only be deleted after confirming the operation.

When the maximum storage capacity of the Gallery is reached, capturing a new photograph will automatically trigger the deletion of the oldest stored photograph, thus ensuring space availability for new captures.

5.2. CONCIERGE AND SOS CALL

The call to the concierge is made from the corresponding icon when there is an active concierge visible to the monitor. If there are multiple concierges available, the user selects the desired one; if there is only one, the monitor attempts to establish communication directly.

The monitor does not establish direct communication with the concierge until they pick up.

When the call is made, the screen will show calling the concierge and a CALLING tone will sound. When the concierge answers, the monitor will receive a call from the concierge.

Once the call from the concierge is received, it will function as mentioned with the panel, but without the ability to open the door and without the camera change button.

SOS Call to Concierge: If there is a concierge ref:9424 in the installation and Panic Mode (SOS) has been configured in it, when this Mode is activated from the concierge, the terminals within the scope of that concierge (General or Block of the terminal itself) will enter Panic mode, showing the SOS button in the upper left corner of the main menu. When the SOS CALL icon is pressed for 3 seconds, a panic call to the concierge will be made, first, if it has the mode activated, to the Block one, and if not, to the General Entrance. At that moment, the SOS icon will start flashing on the screen to indicate that a panic call is being made.

Additionally, when the monitor is in panic mode, the F1 terminal will function as an input for the external panic button, but will no longer function as a negative output. When pressing the external button (if installed) while the monitor is in standby, call, or conversation, a Panic call will be sent. At that moment, the SOS icon will start flashing on the screen to indicate that a panic call is being made.

5.3. ADDITIONAL FUNCTION F1/F2

By pressing the user on the additional function F1/F2, a F1/F2 command is sent through the DUOX PLUS bus to activate a DUOX PLUS relay.

Additionally, if the F1 button has been pressed, a negative is generated at the F1 terminal. It should be noted that this DOES NOT happen if there is a concierge in panic mode in the monitor's scope.

It is possible to activate the F1/F2 command sending function from the monitor in standby, during the call. When the F1/F2 button is pressed on the screen, it will indicate that the action is being performed by showing a confirmation banner when sending the command.

In addition to being able to activate the use of functions F1 and F2, the installer can select a default icon for both, as explained in the relay configuration section, 4.8.1. Controls and additional functions.

5.4. DOORMATIC

Doormatic allows you to automatically open the door after receiving a call from a street panel. The user programs a countdown in HH:MM format, between 00:01 and 11:59. While the function is active, the Doormatic LED remains on.

The DOORMATIC function is only available if the installer has previously enabled it in their menu. In this case, through the corresponding icon in the main menu, the user can configure a time during which the door will automatically open upon receiving a call from a street panel, after 5 seconds.

By pressing the button and accepting, a countdown begins during which the DOORMATIC function will be activated.

If the timer is canceled, the monitor returns to the default standby state.

5.5. INTERCOM CALL

This function allows communication with other terminals within the same dwelling.

The intercom call can be:

  • To all terminals in the dwelling at once (Call-To-All).
  • To a specific terminal within the dwelling (Selective call).

For this option to appear in the main menu,

  1. the function must be previously enabled in the Installer Menu by the installer, see point.
  2. Additionally, an intercom address must have been configured, as it will be set to 0 by default.

The call will last 30 seconds, which is the time available for the receiver to answer it. After this time, the called monitors will stop ringing and directly go to standby.

When receiving an intercom call, the screen will show the icon and the intercom address of the caller. As with a normal call, it is possible to configure the call volume through the options bar.

If the call made is a Call to All, when one terminal answers the call, the others will disconnect from the communication and therefore stop ringing, going to standby.

5.6. WiFi AND PAIRING

The monitor has the option to connect to the Internet via a Wi-Fi connection and use home automation.

There are two ways to connect the monitor to the network:

  • The connection is made through the Wi-Fi icon in the menu; only Wi-Fi 2.4GHz network technology, using the touch controls, and indicating the network to connect to, it is possible to manually enter the WiFi network credentials (SSID and password) using the touch keyboard, and it is also possible to scan for nearby SSIDs.

In the Wi-Fi configuration menu, there is also a switch in the upper right corner that allows you to disable the Wi-Fi connection without deleting the credentials of the currently configured network. The Wi-Fi connection will remain disabled until the switch is activated again.

The user can delete the Wi-Fi network to which the monitor is connected by performing a user or factory reset. In that case, the Wi-Fi connection values will also be deleted.

  • Through the DuoxMe App, pairing is done in the usual way. If the monitor is already connected to the Internet following the previous step, the App will ask if you want to replace the WiFi network, not requesting the credentials of the network if you wish to keep it. To start the pairing process, it is necessary to navigate through the monitor's menu to the diversion configuration option.

When entering this option, a QR code will be displayed for pairing with the App; if the monitor is already connected to a WiFi network, the App will ask the user if they want to replace it.

It is possible to delay the start of the call diversion from the monitor to the app for a few seconds at the user's discretion, in addition to disabling the call diversion.

If the monitor pairs with the App, its date and time will be obtained from the app (obtaining the time zone according to the location of the mobile with the App).

A user or factory reset causes the device to become unpaired, so it stops being associated with the App (if it was previously paired).

Once connected, it will be possible to use home automation and, optionally, call diversion, if you also pair via the application.

On the other hand, it is possible to perform different checks of the connection and the cloud services offered for the monitor from the monitor, accessible from the left side button located below the WiFi symbol.

The status of the Wi-Fi connection will be indicated to the user through the front WiFi LED and through an icon in the main menu. The states for the WiFi LED are as follows:

  • Solid light when correctly connected to the WiFi network.
  • Flashing light when diverting calls to the mobile or establishing a connection.
  • Light off when the network has not been configured.

In case the monitor loses connection for more than 10 minutes or an incorrect password is entered, the following splash will be displayed on the screen:

When the monitor has not been paired with the App, after a video intercom call or auto-on, the following banner will show the DuoxMe call service for 8 seconds before returning to the Home view configured on the monitor. Once paired, the banner will stop showing after the call/auto-on.

6. ADVANCED WEB AND/OR HOME AUTOMATION INTEGRATION FUNCTIONS

6.1. IP Wi-Fi CAMERAS

Selecting this option allows us to view on the monitor the WiFi IP cameras that have an RTSP stream.

The IP cameras must have been previously configured by the installer within the control menu explained in point 4.1.8 during the activation of additional options in the installer menu.

When pressing the Cameras icon in the Main Menu, up to 4 images will be displayed in 4 slots, some of which may be empty if there are fewer than 4 cameras; the name assigned to each camera will be displayed.

By touching each of the camera icons, the selected camera will be displayed in the expanded view.

If the expanded camera view is pressed, the full-screen view will open and start playing the video (but not the audio) on the monitor.

On the camera video display screen, the following will be shown:

  • Camera name (tag)
    • Control bar with:
    • CAPTURE PHOTO, CAPTURE VIDEO icon (only if photo and video capture has been enabled in the Installer Menu).
    • REJECT/HANG UP icon to end the viewing. After this, the monitor goes to sleep.
    • SETTINGS icon to adjust image parameters (brightness, contrast, saturation).
    • F1 icon. If enabled in the Installer Menu.
    • F2 icon. If enabled in the Installer Menu.
  • CHANGE CAM WIFI icon (only if there is more than 1 WiFi camera visible from this monitor). If there are only 2 configured cameras, it will switch to view the other camera. If there are more than 2 configured cameras, a dialog will be displayed to select the camera to switch to.

The maximum viewing time for any of the selected IP cameras will be 90 seconds.

Additionally, it is possible to assign a WiFi IP camera to the doorbell call so that when a call is received from the doorbell, the monitor will display the image from the associated WiFi IP camera.

The Smart Monitor supports the connection of auxiliary IP cameras with a maximum resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. Recommended solutions within the FERMAX portfolio for this application include the Ref. 9986 WiFi cameras (up to 12 fps) and Ref. 9985 PoE (up to 30 fps).

Disconnection

In case of loss of connection with the camera, the user will be notified with the following screen informing the user of the error that occurred so they can check the connection to the router or WiFi network. Refer to point 5.6. WiFi and pairing.

6.2. WEBSERVER AND URL ACCESS

The monitor has a web server to configure the 5 fields where the URLs that the web browser will access can be adjusted (Home Automation, General Information, User Services, etc...).

The integrated Web Server is accessible to any client connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the monitor.

Access can be achieved in 3 different ways;

  • If the monitor has set up a Wi-Fi access point, and the web client has connected to that access point:

From the installer menu by accessing the “Access P.” option, information for a manual connection or for connection via QR will be displayed.

Once connected, the web server can be accessed via a browser at:

www.fermaxmonitor.com

  • The monitor is connected to a Wi-Fi router, to which the web client is also connected:

If accessed from any other web client (browser) other than the monitor itself, the Webserver will be accessible via the IP address of the monitor using the following URL: http://<monitor_ip_address>/settings.html

  • The client is the monitor itself, and accesses its own Webserver through one of its web spaces.

Using the device's keyboard, access is configured by default from a dropdown menu at the top . The different fields offered by the product's web server can be filled in. The only difference if the configuration is done locally, by accessing the server itself, is the inability to import or export the device configuration.

6.3. WEB BROWSING

The monitor has up to five configurable web spaces, in addition to the space reserved for the intercom menu (DUOX), allowing the installer to define the URLs that the user can access through the integrated browser; however, only one of these spaces can be configured as the intercom menu.

The URLs of each space are configured from the WebServer and are displayed in full screen, hiding navigation bars and other interface elements to maximize the viewing area.

The integrated browser allows storing cookies, cached data, and access credentials, so it is not necessary to log in each time, ensuring that stored credentials remain exclusively on the device. It also supports vertical scrolling, zoom, and the configuration of an initial offset to directly show the relevant part of certain web pages. Additionally, an automatic page reload can be configured, and a manual reload can be forced by swiping down from the top of the screen.

The browser supports redirections to other web pages and includes support for viewing PDF documents accessible from web links, allowing full-screen viewing, scrolling, and zooming, with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Additionally, the top bar includes a back navigation button that allows going back in the history of the active web space or returning to the previous page after opening a PDF, only showing when there is previous navigation available.

Reordering spaces

The arrows allow moving the position of a space that has already been configured up or down. The position in which the spaces appear on the webserver matches the position in which they appear on the top navigation bar.

Space type (DUOX/Website)

Allows defining whether a space is of intercom menu type (DUOX), or if it is a web space where a URL can be viewed.

Icon in the top navigation bar

Allows defining the icon that will be associated with the space in the top navigation bar. There are 6 different icons, but the same icon can be reused in more than one space. (Home, Dobiss, Environment, Weather, World, Relay)

URL, only available for web spaces

Defines the URL that will be loaded in the web space. It must start with https:// or http://

Visible/Not visible space

Checkbox that defines whether a space will be visible in the top navigation bar, and therefore the user can navigate to it. It is possible to leave a space with all its parameters configured, but not visible.

Home space

Allows marking the space that will be configured as Home. The Home space is the one displayed every time the monitor screen is turned on by pressing a button.

Automatic web refresh time

Allows defining a time, after which the URL currently displayed in the web space will be automatically refreshed. (-, 30min, 1h, 2h, 3h, 6h, 12h, 24h),

Vertical web offset

Allows defining a vertical offset (value in pixels) to hide the top part of the web loaded in the web space (e.g., hide an advertising header).

It is possible to modify the display order of the different URLs, as well as establish a default one. By pressing the save button, the configuration is saved persistently on the device. The changes will be applied without restarting the monitor, automatically loading the new URLs when necessary.

The webserver also has a "Delete" button. When this button is pressed, a message will be displayed asking us to confirm that we wish to delete the current configuration. If confirmed, all the configuration of this webserver menu will revert to default values. This option will even delete the configuration of the web space with access to the webserver.

In the case of connecting to the monitor's webserver from an external device, there are two buttons available to allow the export of all the configuration made from the webserver, and then its import into any other monitor in the installation.
